Sassafras Vanilla Syrup

Used in Root Beer Cold Brew (see Pacific's Recipes page for recipe)

Ingredients

  • 14 oz raw sugar
  • 13 1/2 oz water
  • 1/2 oz vanilla extract
  • 1/2 oz sassafras root

Instructions

  1. Step 1
    In a bowl, add sugar, vanilla, and sassafras.
  2. Step 2
    Add boiling water to the bowl.
  3. Step 3
    Whisk until sugar is dissolved and cool.
  4. Step 4
    Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a storage container.
  5. Step 5
    Refrigerate and write date on storage container. Good for seven days.
